Plakias - Crete

Plakias is a lovely seaside settlement in the coast of south Crete. Thanks to its sandy beach (1.5 Km long) and to the mountains that rule behind it, Plakias attracts many visitors during the summer.

Except the Plakias lovely sandy beach the region provides a variety of secluded beaches like Damioni, Amoudi and Skinaria.

Useful information: You will find all the necessities on the main beach road of Plakias or on the paths that head inland from it. In Plakias there are many tavernas, bars, cafes, restaurants, supermarket, post office, pharmacy, 24hr ATM, laundry, car rental etc. From Plakias, there are daily boat trips to Fragokastelo, Preveli and Agia Galini. Plakias is about an hour drive from Matala.
